Things to do

Sanur is within an easy difference of several different beaches, the best of which is Pantai Indah, but any of the others will be a great place to start relaxing during your holiday. You’ll find a paved promenade runs the length of the coastline, linking the different beaches and make a great spot for an afternoon stroll or watching the sun set in the evening.

Although the beaches here don’t have any waves, meaning that holidaymakers looking to go surfing would be better at Kuta or Uluwata, they are still a good place for watersports. The winds here make it a great destination for kitesurfing especially. If you’re looking to go diving, you’ll find some good dive sites just a short boat ride away from Sanur, and the nearby waters are teeming with sea life.

The town centre itself is relatively small, but along the Jalan Danau Tamblingan street you’ll find plenty of opportunity for shopping at the many arts and crafts shops, where you can buy gifts and souvenirs.

Top attractions in Sanur

There may not be many temples and other historic sites to see in Sanur, however you will find the oldest historical relic in Bali, dating from 914 AD: the Blanjong Pillar. Hidden down an unnamed street off Jalan Danau Poso, it’s worth a stop if you enjoy discovering a bit of history. A much more modern attraction, the Museum Le Mayeur was once the home of Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merpres, a Belgian expat and artist. It’s a great place to visit to see the traditional Balinese gardens and compound.

Animal lovers should stop by the Turtle Conservation and Education Centre. Located on Serangan Island, a short boat trip from Sansur, it’s the perfect place to see some of the local wildlife and visitors can spend the rest of the day exploring the island.

Best restaurants

There isn’t a huge amount of choice in the centre of Sanur, which is quite small, but along the two main roads of Jalan Danau Tamblingan and Jalan Danau Poso you’ll find some of the best restaurants in town. If you’re keen to try some local cuisine, try Warung Dapur Sanur or Warung Jawa.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
