What to do in Monte Gordo?

The modern resort town of Monte Gordo, in the southeastern corner of the Algarve, boasts excellent weather and reasonable prices for food and drink. The resort has a good range of restaurants serving traditional Portuguese cuisine including freshly caught seafood. Monte Gordo’s most defining feature is it’s 14 km stretch of beach, which passes the edge of pine forests, forming part of the Dunas Litorias national park, in the east. Cycling is a great way to explore the area, especially thanks to Portugal’s investment into safe cycle paths; there is a pleasant bike ride to the nearby village of Altura (3 km).

Enjoyable day trips include; a visit to the 18th-century town named Vila Real, a ferry from Vila Real to Ayamonte, and lastly a day at the fishing port of Tavira (one of the most charming spots in the Algarve). There are also three good golf courses close to Monte Gordo which have stunning scenery and challenging courses; Castro Marim Golf, Quinta da Ria and Benamor golf course.

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
